Job Title: Desktop Engineer

Location: Burford offices

Contract Type: 12 month fixed term contract, full time

Grade: 5.1

What is the role?

Our client is currently recruiting for an experienced Desktop Engineer to join their IT team at Burford. The Desktop Engineer will be part of the IT Operations team and will manage the complete lifecycle of endpoint computing for around 750 Dell computers with some Apple Mac.

This includes procurement, build, deployment, security and patching, through to disposal. The Desktop Engineer will manage hardware and software inventory systems. Our client is looking for an enthusiastic, very technically competent person who will help improve and develop deployment and management processes.

You will have solid experience of Windows 10 deployments and Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (or equivalent), be very familiar with Active Directory as well as Bitlocker/Encryption. Some travel is expected in this role.

This is a 12 month fixed term contract. The standard hours are 35 per week.

What is required?

Our client is looking for people with the following skills and experience:

- Educated to degree level or equivalent

- MCSA or above

- ITIL or equivalent

- Significant experience of PC lifecycle management

- Windows 10 large scale build and deployment

- Microsoft Deployment Toolkit

- Office 365 rollout

- Software packaging and design

- Software licence management

- Device endpoint management

- Patch management

- Microsoft Hyper-V

- Active Directory Users and Computers

It would also be great if you had:

- Manage Engine Products including Desktop Central

- SOPHOS Endpoint Protection

- MS Azure

- Cisco and Aruba Switches

- Avaya Phone Systems

- Group Policy

- PowerShell

- DHCP / DNS
