Technical Support Engineer - Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey - £35,000 - £40,000The company
A software solutions company who provide mission critical systems to the telecoms, banking, and aerospace industries are currently looking for a Technical Support Engineer with strong Linux and Networking knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
3rd Line SupportTroubleshooting and analysisProactively monitoring and testing the deployed solutions.Taking support calls from customer technical teams.
TechnicalTroubleshooting and configuration of in house software in a Linux environment.Some troubleshooting of network equipment (Loadbalancers, switches, VPN)
Essential skills:Hands on Level 2/3 exposure from a support role in Telecoms, Finance, Banking, Aerospace or any other industry where there are mission critical systems.Good knowledge of Linux, including scripting.Strong networking skills, with a preference of telco networking.SQL Database knowledge, preferably with Postgres or MYSQL.
Desirable skills:ITIL process knowledgeKnowledge of Telecom environment and technologies is a great advantage including OSS/BSS industries.Exposure to PostgreSQL would be advantageousA proven track record of the above requirements coupled with a strong service ethic and team attitude will secure your interview.
