Junior Systems Analyst

About Our Client

As the UK’s largest independent producer of organic vegetable boxes, you can imagine that our client is no ordinary e-commerce company. They deliver to more than 50,000 households each and every week, run 3 farms, 2 pack houses, a butchery, a vegetable wholesaler and a restaurant! Every part of their company is enabled through technology from the PDAs out on the fields to their website and mobile apps. They are extraordinarily passionate about their products, the ethics they demand of themselves in their supply and the attention to detail they take in their delivery.

Our client’s expectations are high and are rewarded by being part of a fantastic business with amazing benefits. They are based in some of the most beautiful countryside in the world in a modern solar-powered office with all the best start-up trimmings; good coffee, organic home-cooked breakfasts and lunches, modern "start-up" offices, top-end hardware & obviously an arcade machine. They are employee owned and all co-owners share their profits because they believe everyone should succeed together. When was the last time you heard bird song whilst working? Walked down a path, see the wildlife whilst having a go/no go meeting? Ate poached egg on toast during a review session? Chatted with a stakeholder over an organic beer? This is life with our client.

What our client expects of a Junior Systems Analyst

You will be joining our client at an exciting time - they are currently rolling out a raft of new systems and reimagining their entire systems infrastructure, alongside a host of other great new projects. You will help shape a new e-commerce experience for more than 100,000 customers and 600 co-owners.

Navigating business change, and the continuous improvement of the systems which support our client is imperative to their future success. Analysis of the requirements, digging deep to enable them to make decisions as accurately and holistically as possible and moving on to working with stakeholders, suppliers, internal engineering and the wider organisation to bring those solutions to life. This is the core of how our client sees a System Analyst.

Working in the Business System team, you will help deliver the ambitious roadmap and architecture of our client’s production and finance systems amongst others. Their Pick by Light system with automated conveyors has set the baseline for new infrastructure on their farms and within their pack houses and they have a varied and interesting set of new projects and improvements to deliver over the coming years.

You will be facilitating workshops, capturing requirements, working directly with engineers to translate those requirements into solutions and following through with the testing team and finally documenting and delivering training as required to end users and support teams.

You’ll also be working alongside the operations and help desk teams to provide on-going support for the systems that the entire organisation relies upon.

The role is full lifecycle and a passion for completion is an essential asset in its success.

What you should know

Our client is less concerned about specifics than they are about cultural fit, an ambition, and capability, to learn and develop your skills. If there is something on their list which is out of your comfort zone that’s fine but expect them, to expect you, to pick it up and run with it should you join them! That said, here are their ideal skills for this role:

- Demonstrable hands on experience of supporting, analysing & assisting in implementing business systems improvements
- Business process understanding of Production/Manufacturing, Procurement & Finance systems
- Awareness and some understanding of configuration of ERP applications
- Working in an agile or waterfall processes simultaneously
- High pressured environment - Small teams with big projects
- Cope well with rapid change - Different requirements use different systems
- Strong communication skills - You will be working with anyone and everyone in the company

Your experience

You will have a love of working on and ideally experience of delivering technical solutions to complex business problems. You will be logical, analytical, dedicated to deliver. Passionate about getting to the cause of the problems and working with teams to solve them effectively. A keen self-starter who can take responsibilities for making things happen.

What you get

Our client rewards their staff over and above the norm. They offer a working environment unlike any other and they are constantly improving. That said, here are the usual suspects:

- Matched contributory pension
- 33 days’ holiday including bank holidays
- 25% off all their stunning ethical organic food and local partners
- Heavily subsidised, home-cooked organic breakfast and lunch
- 10% of gross profits are shared with the staff
- Free grade-out organic fruit and veg
- Amazing organic coffee selections; morning espresso to stay-late cafetières
- BIG summer & winter parties along with all year BBQs and get-togethers
- Multiple screens, a top end computer (16GB, SSD) + any software you need
