About Our Client

As the UK’s largest independent producer of organic vegetable boxes, you can imagine that our client is no ordinary e-commerce company. They deliver to more than 50,000 households each and every week, run 3 farms, 2 pack houses, a butchery, a vegetable wholesaler and a restaurant! Every part of the company is enabled through technology from the PDAs out on the fields to their website and mobile apps. Our client is extraordinarily passionate about their products, the ethics they demand of themselves in their supply and the attention to detail they take in their delivery.

The company’s expectations are high and are rewarded by being part of a fantastic business with amazing benefits. Our client is based in some of the most beautiful countryside in the world in a modern solar-powered office with all the best start-up trimmings; good coffee, organic home-cooked breakfasts and lunches, modern "start-up" offices, top-end hardware & obviously an arcade machine. The organisation is employee owned and all co-owners share profits because our client believes everyone should succeed together. When was the last time you heard bird song whilst working? Walked down a path, see the wildlife whilst having a go/no go meeting? Ate poached egg on toast during a review session? Chatted with a stakeholder over an organic beer? This is life with our client.

What our client expects of a Systems Implementer & Trainer

You will be joining our client at an exciting time - they are currently rolling out a raft of new systems and reimagining their entire systems infrastructure, alongside a host of other great new projects. You will help shape a new e-commerce experience for more than 100,000 customers and 600 co-owners.

Navigating business change, and the continuous improvement of the systems which supports the business is imperative to the future success of the organisation. Implementation and training allows our client to deliver on that exciting and frequently challenging remit. For the company to succeed, our client has to work together both as a technology department but also as a support and advocate for the change that they bring. Our client frequently implements projects with tens of thousands of customers, and hundreds of stakeholders all impacting jobs and lives. Helping implement, deliver and train these projects is the core of how our client sees this role.

Working in the Business System team you will help deliver the ambitious roadmap and architecture of the production and logistics systems amongst others. The first project is an ambitious one, delivering our client’s new logistics platform by helping implement the solution and train both drivers and office users on all elements of the system from the devices that sit in vans through to the back office and communication platform that delivers many customer benefits. The project will be running throughout 2019 and will totally re-write the way our client operates their last-mile fleet. In addition, there will be responsibility for training the 1st line support team and some retained responsibility for 2nd line support of the system after go-live.

This project alone will bring with it a need to devise implementation and training plans and then carry them out. Training & documentation may take different forms, from producing videos, written guides and delivering classroom style training as appropriate.

On the road, you will be delivering training and guidance working with in-house Logistics teams as well as Franchisees and approximately 200 drivers.

This is a huge change project moving drivers from paper-based processes to tablets, and out in the field you will be the change ambassador - this cannot be overlooked, personality and the ability to support co-workers through change is fundamental to the success in this role.

What you should know

Our client is less concerned about specifics than they are about cultural fit, an ambition, and capability, to learn and develop your skills. If there is something on the list which is out of your comfort zone that’s fine but expect our client, to expect you, to pick it up and run with it should you join them! That said, here are their ideal skills for this role:

- You will either have experience of working within software implementations, this may have been as a key user rather than pure IT delivery, or a strong logistics background where you have hands on experience of a multi customer van deliveries in complex geographical areas

- You will be a passionate ambassador for positive change and find joy in helping people take on the challenges associated with that change

- Delivery of training on a 1-2-1 basis as well as delivering in groups of 6-8

- Excellent communication and written skills - you will be working with anyone and everyone with the company

- Demonstrable hands on experience of understanding processes and being able to explain succinctly how things work

- Experience of working with large change projects

- You will have a logical and technical bent; so that after implementation you can assist in 2nd / 3rd line support calls via the support desk

Your experience

You will be friendly, approachable and able to support people through change. You will be confident, especially in the delivery of training and a keen self-starter who can take responsibilities for making things happen. You will need a full driving licence and happy spending extended periods out of the office.

What you get

Our client rewards their staff over and above the norm. They offer a working environment unlike any other and are constantly improving. That said, here are the usual suspects:

- Matched contributory pension

- 33 days’ holiday including bank holidays

- 25% off all our client’s stunning ethical organic food and local partners

- Heavily subsidised, home-cooked organic breakfast and lunch

- 10% of gross profits are shared with the staff

- Free grade-out organic fruit and veg

- Amazing organic coffee selections; morning espresso to stay-late cafetières

- BIG summer & winter parties along with all year BBQs and get-togethers

- Multiple screens, a top end computer (16GB, SSD) + any software you need
