Our client is looking for a Data Engineer team lead to join a team based in London who work with some of the world's biggest household names. You would be joining an exciting company that is growing at a rapid rate of 40% YOY for the last 5 years.

What would I be doing?

* Lead a team of Data Engineers, championing innovation, high quality on time delivery and continuous improvement.

* Contribute to the design, build and operational management of highly scalable, secure and available data environments

* Follow Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery best practice regarding tools, methodologies and automated workflow / build data pipelines

* Take line management responsibility for the members of your team. Typically, we have agile teams of 4-7 people.

* Working with the various teams deliver capacity planning and performance models for the data platform.

* Provide expertise as to how to implement and enforce security within the solutions designed.

* Provide out of hours support either as part of scheduled rota or critical project delivery.

Who are you?

* Experience in leading a team of Data Engineer / Developers in a hands on technical role in an Agile environment.

* Have a strong Software Engineering or Data Engineering background and are able to write code in Python, Java or other platform related Big data technology.

* Experience in a continuous integration / delivery environment with a passion for automation.

* Exposure/Experience in Bigdata Technologies (hadoop, spark, presto, etc.).

* Experience with SQL Server tools such as SQL Server Integration Services, SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Data Tools and Visual Studio.

* Experience leading large-scale data warehousing and analytics projects, including using AWS technologies - Redshift, S3, EC2, Data-pipeline and other big data technologies

* Knowledge and direct experience using business intelligence reporting tools. (OBIEE, Business Objects, Cognos, Tableau, MicroStrategy, SSAS Cubes, Datanet, etc.)

* Experience with a DW technology (Oracle, Teradata, Netezza, Redshift, etc) and relevant data modelling
