Network Manager / Permanent / Birmingham

Cisco, LAN, WAN, VLAN, ASA, Checkpoint, F5, Fortinet, Firewalls, Scripting, Routing & Switching, VMware NSX, CCNA, CCNP, CCDA…

Excellent salary on offer and an annual bonus up to 10%.

Responsibilities:

*Smooth operation of company networks

*Continually monitor network for performance in line with agreed SLA

*Manage supplier relationships to optimise billing and ensure service provision leverages the most cost

*effective technologies and providers.

*Focus on continual improvement of networks and overall IT effectiveness

*Promote an environment of continual improvement in the team

*Network externally to bring in new ideas and keep up to date with best in class

*Design and implement short and long term strategic plans to ensure network capacity meets existing and

*future requirements

*Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans relating to networks.

*Participate in the development of IT strategies in collaboration with the Head of IT Infrastructure

*Conduct research and make recommendations on products, services, protocols and standards in support of all

*infrastructure procurement and development efforts

*Establish and evolve service level agreements with business units

*Be responsible for the network elements of gaining and retaining new business

*Prepare RFP's, bid proposals, contracts, scope of work reports and other documentation for the network part

*of infrastructure projects and associated efforts

*Effective day to day management of the networks team

*Manage the team effectively across multiple sites, ensuring they all have up to date, agreed job descriptions,

*have a performance review at least annually and are trained in line with agreed training plan to effectively deliver a first-class service.

*Willing to be hands-on when necessary

*Ability to make sound and logical judgments.

*Numeric dexterity to handle budgets and calculations of ROI

*Resource management and scheduling

*Project estimates.

*Operate across multiple projects concurrently and assume the responsibility for the appropriate technical and architectural elements.

*Three years plus successful leadership of a technical team
