Microsoft Power BI Developer - 6 month contract - Cambridge

Microsoft Power BI Developer required to join a technology company on a 6 month contract based in Cambridge.

You will be required to develop business reports in Microsoft Power BI and Tableau.

Accountabilities

* You will build a variety of project-related reports and dashboards. This will include:

* Collating, guiding and structuring requirements;

* Planning your work and setting customer expectations;

* Preparing the data, from one or many data repositories;

* Developing a Proof of Concept and validating to ensure requirements are satisfied;

* Deploying and scheduling the developed solution;

* Documenting the delivered work;

* Delivering further point releases, as required, to maximise adoption

Key Skills and Experience

You need to be passionate about Business Intelligence and demonstrate the following capabilities:

* Customer engagement skills with the ability to plan, document, and manage customer expectations.

* The ability to connect to and query SQL databases

* Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Power BI application and familiarity with Tableau and / or SAP Business Objects.

* Confident in blending data from various sources.

* Report development skills including building simple and complex reports, interpreting data, presenting results in dashboard views, validating quality (analysing and debugging skills)

* Documentation

* Experience with Agile delivery

* Ability to support the development lifecycle (development, UAT, production) and understand the use of change control and configuration management.

* Data analysis skills including data collection, cleansing and organisation to investigate business questions.
