Spring Technology's client, a public sector organisation, are currently looking to recruit a Test Lead for an initial 5 month contract based in Edinburgh on a rate of c.£400-£475/day (inside of IR35).

Responsibilities:

* Under own direction, lead a Test Team and advise on Test Design and create Test Plans aligned to the Project Delivery Timelines

* Ensure test processes and standards are adhere to as per directed by the Programme Test Strategy

* Write database queries within SQL

* Aid the team in executing scripts against known iterations/software versions

* Conduct Peer Review of test artefacts both (Functional and Non Functional) for internal stakeholders and external third party suppliers.

* Provide the Head of Test with Planning and Estimation to conduct testing within different Test Levels (functional and non-functional)

* Produce Test Metrics

* Work with Product Owners and other end users (Statisticians) to capture the data integration points throughout functional testing

* Manage and run daily triage call to apply the programme defect management principles

Requirements:

* Comprehensive understanding of the development lifecycle including Agile and/or Waterfall

* Experience in the leading a Test Team and planning, design, management, execution of functional and non-functional tests throughout all relevant Test Levels such as System Testing, Integration Testing, Operational Acceptance Testing (NFT)

* Strong analytical skills with the ability to present data and results in a clear and concise manner to different stakeholders

* Experience of working with a variety of Test Tools for Functional and Non Functional Testing such as SOAP UI, Loadrunner, JIRA and associated JIRA Test Mgmt Add-ons

Desirable Skills:

* Experience using test automation

* Experience of working with off-site third party suppliers.

* Foundation and / or Intermediate Certificate in Software Testing (ISTQB)

* Experience of using SAS and large and complex datasets
