Platform Engineer / Support Engineer - Windows Server, SQL, XML, .Net - Manchester City Centre - 6 Month Contract - up t0 £400 - Immediate start.

My client a leading Fintech company based in Manchester City Centre are looking for an experienced Platform Engineer / Support Engineer.

The right engineer must have excellent windows server, SQL, XML and .Net skills. You will be part of a small team who are expanding rapidly, you will be an authority figure in the team providing guidance and expertise to some of the junior members of the team as well as be forthcoming in platform and structure improvement suggestions.

You will be responsible for network health, storage capacity, security and backups and subsequently carry out remedial actions to rectify any issues identified. You will work closely alongside the Service Desk team assisting with any customer support requests.

Key Responsibilities

* Review the current monitoring capabilities, recommend and implement improvements

* Build out strong processes around monitoring and management of the infrastructure and application.

* Carry out routine patching and updating of the application and infrastructure (applying fixes, patches etcs in accordance with the companies change control process )

* Build and deploy new and upgraded environments.

Essential Skills:

* Windows Server

* SQL

* XML

* .Net

* Previous experience of developing areas

Desirable Skills:

* PRTG

* Kibana

* AWS

* Working on Internal IT structures.
