Data Protection Officer and Information Governance Lead

To be suitable for this position you must:

* Have experience working in an NHS Organisation and a general understanding of working in an NHS Acute Trust

* Data Protection or IG qualification

* Be able to provide evidence of interpreting information legislation and guidance into organisational best practice

* Efficient in delivering high standards of performance to achieve National and Local targets

* Understanding of security and confidentiality rules within the public sector

* Working knowledge on legal and professional obligations regarding NHS IG

* Be able to demonstrate that you have successfully handled sensitive situations effectively and confidentially

* Have obtained a high level of poltiical astuteness and sensitivity, being particularly aware of social, policial, financial, and business isuess affecting the NHS

* A track record in data protection within an organisation managing large volumes of personal and special category data

* A clear knowledge of data protection trends
