Spring Technology's client, a public sector organisation, are currently looking to recruit a Cyber Threat Analyst for an initial 3 month contract based in Glasgow on a rate of c.£300-£350/day (outside of IR35).

Responsibilities:

* Develop analytics to meet customer requirements.

* Develop dashboards to meet customer requirements.

* Management of administration of current ELK platform.

* Reviews compliance with the agency's information security policies and standards, working closely with the Risk and Compliance team.

* Assesses configurations and security procedures for adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.

* Investigates and reconciles violation reports and logs generated by security tools in accordance with established procedures and security standards. Investigates any other identified security breaches in accordance with established procedures.

* Reviews network usage and assesses the implications of any unacceptable usage and breaches of privileges or policy.

* Researches security vulnerabilities, countermeasures and mitigations.

* Assists users in defining their needs for new access rights and privileges. Operates and administers both physical and logical access controls and directly associated security services relating to all platforms used in order to provide continuous and secure access to information services.

Requirements:

* Experience of ELK, vulnerability management tools, and information security controls.

* Awareness and understanding of networking, infrastructure and application architectures both cloud based and on-premise.

* Experience of applying government and international security standards, e.g. ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials etc.

* Demonstrable experience of communicating effectively to different audiences, including senior management, with the ability to describe technical issues in a non-technical manner.

Desirable Skills:

* Ability to work on their own initiative and take responsibility for a variety of key tasks / deliverables

* Ability to negotiate and get buy in.
