Are you an experienced CAD design engineer, with experience of staff management in the utilities distribution networks sector looking for an exciting, challenging opportunity offering long term progression?

This role is with a major player in the utilities market with multiple sites throughout the UK and activities across a range of utilities sectors (water, gas, electricity, FTTH telecoms).

Their year on year growth ensures they can offer candidates technical, career and salary progression, in a professional working environment.

The role is to manage effectively a team of CAD technician and ensure CAD & GIS Network drawings are up to date and accurate from site information provided

Therefore tasks will include:

1. Manage the department workload ensuring allocation of work to staff, monitor the KPI targets and ensure staff are trained and developed properly

2. Ensure the CAD technicians produce detailed Network drawings and ensure all drawing investigations and requests for further as laid drawing information are progressed and escalated as necessary to a successful conclusion.

3. Ensure Test-Certificates and As-Laid drawings are processed and interpreted as received from Direct Staff/Contractors/UIPs, to ensure provision of up to date, accurate work in progress drawings.

To apply for this position you should have:

1. Working experience of using AutoCAD, and knowledge of GIS systems.

2. Working experience within utilities engineering sector

3. Experience of team leading or management
