We currently require the services of a Network Management Engineer to work for a well respected client based in Manchester.The successful candidate will provide support for the development and maintenance of Infrastructure and support the management of specific technologies via partnership with technology specialists.
Key skills required:
Demonstrated excellent analytical and problem solving skillsExtensive IT Infrastructure experience Ability to organise customer demandsDemonstrable knowledge of networking technologies including tcp/ip, switches and routers.Knowledge of Operating Systems (OS) - Linux, Windows Server, Windows Desktop,Knowledge of Applications (Web, Mail, Office Suite)Willing to work shift patternsWilling to perform on call support to Network Operations CentreDesirable skills:
Ability to adapt readily to changing work and responsibilitiesHardware including some from Sun, HP, Dell.Experience of configuring and supporting: Operating systems, Hardware and Data Storage.Knowledge of scripting languages (BASH), Java, Perl, PHPConfiguration and support of at least one Data Storage technology such as RAID, StorageTEK, SAN, switches.Degree/Diploma or equivalent education in Information Technologies
