I am currently looking for a Data Engineer/Developer to join a market-leading provider of eCommerce delivery management technology whose clients include the likes of ASOS and Adidas. They are in state of continued growth and year on year they have grown by 40% for the last 5 years. What will you be doing?

* Contribute to the design, build and operational management of highly scalable, secure and available large-scale data warehousing and analytics systems using AWS technologies - Redshift, S3, EC2, Data-pipeline and other big data technologies.

* Follow Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery best practice regarding tools, methodologies and automated workflow / build new data pipelines. Contribute to the evolution of this best practice.

* Improve and maintain existing data pipelines written in Microsoft Technologies.

* Mentor more junior colleagues.

* Provide expertise as to how to implement and enforce security within the solutions designed

* Other tasks as assigned by line manager

Key skills required;

* A Software Engineer and are able to write code in Python, Java or other platform related Big data technology.

* Experience in a continuous integration / delivery environment with a passion for automation

* Extensive experience of building, automating and supporting robust and reliable data pipelines hosted in cloud.

* Experience of using data technologies provided by one of the leading cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google)

* Good knowledge of SQL Server databases and tools such as SQL Server Integration Services, SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Data Tools and Visual Studio

* Experience working in an Agile / Scrum environment

* Excellent knowledge of physical database design for both relational and NOSQL databases.

* A thorough understanding of best practice for development, including source control, automated deployment and promotion to production

* Practical understanding of GDPR and other considerations for data security.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Must be calm and work well under pressure

* Proven ability to work independently; deploying and troubleshooting systems

* Analytical by nature to troubleshoot and solve complex System Engineering problems

* Experience supporting high availability systems and scalable architectures

* Excellent internal customer service, communication, and coordination

My client can offer you great benefits as well as a salary of up to 75K dependent on skillset.
