Our Defence Business Services (DBS) team are therefore working to transform this vital function within the department, and it is here that we need your input.

This position offers the unique opportunity to implement a ‘digital first’ approach to the way we work. As such, you will champion this complex period of change, leading a large team to facilitate secure digital delivery across our systems and services. Working closely with customers to ensure end-to-end services are secure and that they are meeting expected standards, you will place great value on the customer experience. Seeing to it that the DBS is aligned with Government goals, you will allocate resources efficiently, driving optimum results and delivering value-for-money. Crucially, you will look for ways in which our business processes can be more efficient, and you will support MOD ambitions to deliver services on mobile devices, thereby enabling flexible working options for our staff.

It is vital that we maintain confidence in our leadership, so to make the most of this role you will have experience of successfully leading a large team of technical specialists. Keen to develop their skills and ensure the team is prepared for future MOD needs, you will have excellent people management and communication capabilities. Your capacity to handle complex technical subject matter, will be important, and you will be fluent in designing ICT strategy. With a solid track record of building functional and professional organisational capability, we will expect you to have a comprehensive knowledge of the secure systems, processes and mechanisms that are used during operations within a secure environment.
