A unique opportunity to use your cyber/IT security experience to play a key role in the online security of one of the most important and high-profile public inquiries ever established.

The role of the Independent Inquiry Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA) is to identify, understand and learn from the institutional failings that allowed child sexual abuse to happen in the past, and to make robust recommendations to prevent that abuse from happening in the future. Your technical expertise will protect the enquiry from cyber attacks, ensuring our vital work can be carried out safely.

As Head of Cyber Security, your responsibilities will include:

- Developing and maintaining data security policies

- Developing service descriptions, processes and procedures for all cyber security operational services, ensuring compliance to security policies

- Promoting cyber security awareness and training across the organisation

- Working with business areas to provide security expertise for business and IT projects and changes

- Identifying and reporting on all cyber security risks and issues, with remediation plans to senior management

- Taking the lead on security incidents; carrying out robust investigations in order to identify corrective actions, seeing them through to completion.

You will need a blend of strong technical ability and the ability to work as part of a wider, non-specialist team. You must also be able to identify cyber security risks, be able to provide subject matter expertise, collaborate with colleagues to mitigate risks and challenge peers and senior staff where necessary.

Professional Cyber/IT security experience in a government setting is essential, along with familiarity with information security frameworks. You will also need experience in security architecture, security operations, threat/vulnerability management, cloud security, application security, data privacy and protection.
