You will contribute to all aspects of optical design and optical performance within a product development environment across multiple applications in different industries and take responsibility for various stages of the product design, from concept feasibility through to full-scale manufacturing of optoelectronic modules. Requirements: -Optics/engineering/science degree
-2+ years relevant industrial experience (semiconductor and/or optical component manufacturing)
-Proven track record in optics design and related applications (optical component/system design)
-Proficiency with Zemax optical design software as well as with SolidWorks or similar mechanical design software (preferably with thermal/stress modelling experience)
-Familiarity with techniques and equipment used in the assembly of semiconductor level micro and optoelectronic components as well as with Design for Manufacturing, FMEA, DOE
-Broad knowledge of the following assembly processes: wafer saw, epoxy and solder die attach, wirebond, package sealing, Basic understanding of materials properties relating to packaging (e.g. thermal expansion, thermal conductivity) as well as of process engineering, yield improvement and SPC
-Good project management abilities (including generating and maintaining project plans) across a wide range of industrial product technologies
-Service-oriented working style, even under tight deadlines, along with strong communication skills In addition to the aforementioned technical knowledge and skills you will be involved in managing optical design and simulation as well as component package design, ensuring hands-on process operations, supporting assembly process development and assist with new product introductions. As this is a senior level role you will also be expected to initiate and chair regular project meetings and design reviews as well as interacting with customers and suppliers to turn innovation into reality and ensure smooth product development (as to time, quality, cost).
