Big Data Engineer (Hadoop NoSQL Kafka Linux). Would you like to join a technology driven Hedge Fund and use the latest technologies whilst working with a hugely talented team of engineers?

As a Big Data Engineer you will be responsible for building the platform that other teams use to run complex reports to enable better business / trading decisions. The work is interesting and complex you'll be designing, running and troubleshooting Hadoop clusters; batch and streaming job frameworks (such as Spark and Strom); working with NoSQL databases (HBase, Cassandra and MongoDB) and middleware messaging systems (such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, FTL, Ultra Messaging) and Linux.

You'll be based in Central London within a friendly and sociable atmosphere with casual dress code and a good work / life balance.

Requirements:

*Advanced knowledge of Hadoop with experience of designing, running and troubleshooting Hadoop clusters

*Experience with Spark and / or Strom

*Good knowledge of NoSQL databases (HBase, Cassandra and MongoDB)

*Good understanding of Linux OS core principles; performance and tuning

*Familiar with middleware messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, FTL, Ultra Messaging)

*Excellent communication skills
