Planner - Site Planner - Project Planner - Junior planner - 30-40k depending on experience

Working for a FTSE250 global engineering company. the role will assist with the creation and updating of resource loaded project programmes in accordance with procedures and the co-ordination of project management activities as directed by the Programme Development Manager.

**We will also consider an engineering graduate considering a role within planning**

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* To ensure your own safety and the safety of others at all times by working to the Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental policies.

* To proactively report unsafe conditions, unsafe acts and near misses and to become part of the extra ordinary safety culture and help promote the "Home Safe everyday campaign."

* Understand the scope and provide feedback on activities to the Site Manager/Project Manager.

* Sound understanding of construction techniques

* Understand the methods necessary to ensure planned works are completed safely and information cascaded to the relevant parties.

* Generate resource profiles and advise the Site Manager/Project Manager of both opportunities and risks.

* Assist the project team in developing the correct sequencing of events taking into consideration local working rules and logistic solutions.

* Utilising specialist planning software, create site plans, breaking tasks down into shift units.

* Work with the project team to develop logistic plans for the delivery of components to workfaces in readiness to build.

* Ensure that the supervisors and personnel in their teams have the information they require to perform project roles.

* Liaising with the Supervisors throughout the process, advise the Site Manager/Project Manager of any programme issues as they arise.

* Inform the Site Manager/Project Manager of progress in a format that can be readily communicated to the client with workpack completions and delays documented and highlighted.

* Participate in lessons learned meetings for all completed work packs, ensuring that issues found during planning are resolved.

* Be part of the Team. Encourage good communications.

EXPERIENCE:

Experience of the following is desirable: -

* Planning and scheduling of engineering projects

* Excellent working knowledge of the MS Office suite of programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)

* Working knowledge of Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project would prove beneficial.

* Experience of planning on project sites
