Service Engineer (Tivoli Workload Scheduler) - Milton Keynes - 12 months
Service Engineer (Tivoli Workload Scheduler) required to join a multinational information technology client working on a project for an end client in the retail industry, based in Milton Keynes on a 12 month contract.
The role: You will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the scheduling of the Open systems (Unix/Windows/As400) and mainframe batches across the estate, working very closely with the Batch Operations team who operate the batch.
This position is a full time project delivery role.
Skills - Mandatory:
* Tivoli Workload scheduler - both Mainframe and Distributed environments
* Advanced Administration and Trouble Shooting
* TSO, ISPF, JCL. REXX.
* Problem Solving & Analytical skills
* File Transfer Protocol admin - standard & secure
Skills - Useful:
* UNIX shell scripting. Event Management & HACMP concepts FDR.
* I-Series administration and CL programming
* ChangeMan administration
Responsibilities:
* Design, Test and implement JCL and batch changes through development partitions moving into production under robust change management processes.
* Develop, Implement and document operational processes and procedures
* Real-time batch control
* Implement and support both internal and external SFTP processes within a multi-platform environment.
* Be able to identify issues related to scheduling activity, i.e. production batch issues.
* Be available for on-call rotation after business hours to provide 24hr support for any production operational issues.
* Work closely with application developers to provide scheduling solutions using company standards and IBM recommended Best Practices
* Maintain and install TWS software across UNIX and Windows estate.
