Application/Migration Engineer, North West, 3 Month Contract:

An Application/Systems Engineer is required for an initial 3 month contract based in Greater Manchester.

A leading local authority has an exciting opportunity and requirement for an Application Packager, responsible for supporting the upgrade of their operating system from Windows 7 to Windows 10. The employer is looking for a candidate that is proactive with a positive attitude.

The suitable candidate will be part of a successful ICT Team based at the local authority's new award winning state of the art office building. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of migrating Applications services within enterprise level environments. Additionally, you will also be tasked with troubleshooting problems within the infrastructure/platforms whilst technically assuring all services and solutions.

The successful candidate will have demonstratable experience of using App-V and SCCM to package and deploy applications to tight deadlines. Previous experience packaging for Windows 10 and Office 365 as part of large scale migrations is essential coupled with previous experience of working in a fast-paced environment.

The suitable candidate will be able to work as part of a team or on an individual basis undertaking all aspects of Application Packaging from initial discovery/assessment, through to User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to final deployment in a secure environment.

A background in Local Government is highly desirable but not essential.
