FPGA/VHDL designers and developers on a complex engineering programme,

through all stages of a development lifecycle, including specification,

design, development, integration, test and certification, fielding and support of navigation and cryptographic devices.

Ability to successfully lead, manage and follow a rigorous engineering lifecycle,

identifying and scoping new processes and procedures where not already in place.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team and with other technical leads to ensure the solutions are wholly integrated.

Drive forward technical progress and quality, whilst identifying opportunities and keeping with cost profiles.

Ability to understand detailed FPGA/ASIC solutions.

Proven experience of working in a rigorous engineering environment using configuration management and change management processes/tools.

Proven knowledge and experience of leading FPGA teams - specification, design and implementation of complex firmware solutions in all applicable technologies

Experience of leadership roles in complex, multidisciplinary teams.

Proven experience of design and implementation of high-speed of digital processing solutions and systems in FPGA including system-on-chip, embedded processors, high speed interfaces (e.g. Ethernet) etc.

Proven ability to architect, design and implement firmware solutions.

Experience using FPGA design tools including ModelSim, Synplify, ISE (including Chipscope).

Experienced in CPLD and FPGA development (e.g. VHDL, Xilinx, Spartan, Virtex and Coolrunner-II) including detailed design, implementation, test, verification.

Proven experience of product 'bring-up' and testing. Ability to define and execute appropriate test plans.

Knowledge of TEMPEST and EMC, including an understanding of the EMC/TEMPEST test and certificate procedures.

Experience in producing FPGA designs working closely with and accounting for the requirements of embedded software development teams
