Electrical Engineer Instrument & Controls Runcorn £45k
Huxley Engineering and a Global Heavy Production Company (Euro40Bn Turnover / Employee Head-Count 180k Worldwide) are looking to recruit an Electrical Engineer Instrument & Controls on a permanent basis for their large Production sites in Runcorn, with the Electrical Engineer Instrument & Controls critical to enabling required engineering and plant performance.
Reporting into the Electrical Engineering Manager, the Electrical Engineer Instrument & Controls will be the Electrical Engineering Expert (Instrument & Controls / Automation) and the Electrical Engineer Instrument & Controls role is key in driving the Engineering Department to implement essential Professional Engineering & Maintenance standards - Electrical, Instrumentation and Control - for the plant and to deliver specific project improvements.
Key Accountabilities of the Electrical Engineer Instrument & Controls:
Active involvement in all World Class Manufacturing (WCM) activities within the factory, particularly the Reliability (covering Professional Maintenance and Autonomous Maintenance), and FI (Focused Improvement) pillars. The job holder must be an active member of the PM pillar team and drive the WCM and FI behaviours throughout their team.
To support the Plant in achieving optimal electrical plant performance and reliability and to reduce costs through increased production, reduced downtime, reduced scrap/waste, effective use of resources (labour, energy, raw materials) and effective forward planning for down days, projects, etc.
The compilation, alteration and debugging of automation software. Understand, modify and upgrade plant control & automation software and ensuring software backups & plant calibrations are carried out to the correct quality and frequency
Ensuring that critical spares & comprehensive plant documentation are obtained and maintained for control, electrical and instrumentation equipment.
Support in the planning, organising and execution of maintenance operations, repairs, down days, projects etc (both electrical and mechanical when required). Ability to plan and manage complex electrical, instrumentation and control projects, utilising both internal and external labour.
To be part of site call-in rota and act as Electrical expert.
Specifically, my client are looking for an Electrical Engineer Instrument & Controls who possesses the following:
Either Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering or Automation Engineering Degree and/or equivalent HNC / HND in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering or Automation Engineering + relevant experience)
Proven capability in instrumentation and control / automation systems including PLC and SCADA programs
Experience as a Controls Engineer / Automation Engineer / C&I Engineer etc (ideally with PLC experience in Rockwell PLCs / Panelviews / SCADA)
C&I experience on AC motor variable frequency drives and level, flow, speed, temperature and position control loops
Project Management Knowledge and Experience
Exposure to leading individuals and Teams
Broad experience of plant instrumentation systems
For the successful Electrical Instrument & Controls Engineer, a starting salary up to £45,000 and package is on offer and this Electrical Engineer Instrument & Controls is commutable from Chester, Liverpool, Warrington, South Manchester, Runcorn, Widnes, Northwich, Ellesmere Port, Helsby, Frodsham, Speke, St Helens and Crewe.
