Software Developer / Data Scientist (Scala Spark). FinTech start-up is seeking a data centric Software Developer to design and develop complex software solutions and data science services to combat financial fraud. Clients include high profile financial services and government organisations.

The technology stack is based on Scala incorporating Spark, ElasticSearch and AKKA. As a Software Developer you will create design patterns for scoring pipelines for Data Scientists to use; help improve analytical tooling for tasks such as statistical analysis and reporting; developing and improving new methodologies for ease of use and re-usability and produce components for advanced analytics, matching and visualisation of big data.

You'll be designing and developing solutions that use large volumes of data and advanced analytical techniques to detect and alert on high risk activity and provide clear interfaces to allow clients to evaluate and act upon these alerts.

Offices based close to a mainline station near the City. You'll be working with a small, motivated, collaborative team of software, data and finance experts.

Requirements:

*Strong software development experience

*Experience with Scala and Spark

*Experience of deploying big data or analytical solutions to production environments

*Good knowledge of data science methods and techniques

*Passionate technologist, keen to learn new and emerging technologies

*Collaborative team member with excellent communication skills

*Degree educated, 2.1 or above, Computer Science or similar technical discipline
