Ofgem is committed to making a positive difference for energy consumers through effective regulation of the market and close working with suppliers to ensure sustainable energy for consumers and businesses in the UK.
As we migrate to a cloud-based infrastructure model, there are real opportunities to engage with complex, innovative technology challenges. You will maintain, monitor and proactively support the virtual and physical network infrastructure across three locations in the UK, dealing with business-critical applications and 3rd/4th level support queries within a growing, fast-changing Microsoft server environment. The learning curve will be steep but the culture is very supportive. If you are looking to make a step up, you will find that we offer a culture where you can learn and develop as well as work flexibly and from home, if required. There are no out-of-hours call outs.
Significant experience of team working in an IT infrastructure support role is essential, with a relevant qualification such as MCTS, MCITP or an equivalent Microsoft qualification. You must be VCP 5.x qualified, with proven experience of Windows 2008/2012/16 and VMWARE VSphere maintenance configuration and support. Advanced TCP/IP knowledge with an understanding of subnets, routing and DNS is essential, with a deep understanding of Fibre Brocade SAN support, Commvault 11 Backup and CISCO switches and routers. If you have an understanding of SAN management, all the better.
