A fantastic client of mine in the Peterborough area is looking for a Senior Desktop Engineer to join their team and be responsible of the day to day running of their desktop functions.  You will support the team as well as be an escalation point for the service desk and support staff, offering guidance and mentorship where possible.Key Responsibilities:

Be an escalation point to Service Desk and Support staff. Offer guidance and mentorship where appropriate'€¢

Support Microsoft technologies by providing high level 2^nd line support as well as some 3^rd line'€¢

Take ownership of incidents that are escalated by Service Desk Engineers due to their complexity'€¢

Liaise closely with other support teams where appropriate to resolve incidents'€¢

Continually seek to improve the Desktop Support function by creating automated scripts'€¢

Upgrade software and systems as necessary'€¢

Various IT projects on technical development alongside IT Managements and other senior technicians

Technical Competencies Needed:

Windows 7/8/8.1/10'€¢

Windows Server 2008/2008R2 2012/2012R2 /2016'€¢

Microsoft Technologies: Active Directory, Exchange, Office 365 and the Office Suite'€¢

PowerShell/VBScript Scripting'€¢

Antivirus and Security Software'€¢

Cisco switching and routing configuration'€¢

VMware vSphere and vCentre'€¢

VEEAM Backup and Replication technology

Other Desirables:

Four years demonstrable experience in a similar role'€¢

MCSA qualification or equivalent'€¢

A full, valid driving licence'€¢

Excellent communicator both verbally and written'€¢

Able to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks'€¢
