As it is Wednesday (also known as 'hump day' I believe), I will attempt to keep this advert short and (hopefully) sweet...

I am partnering up with one of our long-term clients to aid with the recruitment of a number of Senior Software Engineers to be based out of their office in Central Manchester. They are a market leading eCommerce provider, operating as a market leader and with an excellent reputation for utilising new technologies. They consider themselves to be a 'tech company within an eCommerce provider', driven by technology and using it as an enabler rather than a blocker.

The role is heavily focused around JavaScript development, utilising frameworks such as React and Angular as well as additional front end technologies including HTML5, CSS3, AJAX, JQuery and Bootstrap. You will be expected to work across the full Software Development Lifecycle and will be involved in a number of methodologies/processes including Agile/Scrum, TDD, BDD and DevOps.

You should therefore have a proven track record delivering multiple web/UI application deployments and the role will involve getting involved in the blueprint/roadmap for a number of greenfield MVC applications. Moreover, the role will involve some mentoring/coaching of their Junior Developers.

So in essence... its pretty hybrid!

In terms of specific requirements, they are ideally looking for a number of skills. But rather than just regurgitating the JD, I wanted to highlight a few of them below:

JavaScript Development - The core focus of this role will involve working with client-side JavaScript frameworks including Angular/Angular2, React, Express and Backbone. You will be working on greenfield enterprise UI applications and strong JavaScript skills are therefore a must for this.

Web Technologies - A wide range of web-based skills is also crucial to be considered for this position. You will essentially come in as the most senior Front End Developer within their current engineering function so will almost act as an esclatation point for any web-related issues. A diverse technical background (e.g. HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, AJAX etc.) is therefore a given.

Agile Methodologies - Whilst they arent a 'pure Agile' tech house (I mean... who is?), Agile does play an important part in their engineering process and they endeavour to utilise methodologies/processes including Scrum, Kanban, XP, DevOps and Continuous Integration. A wider understanding of multiple methodologies is therefore important when considering submitting an application for this role.

In return, you will benefit from a competitive base salary (between £35,000 - £55,000) as well as flexible working hours, home working (2 or 3 days per week) and their company benefits package.
