Infrastructure Project Manager (Client Delivery, MS, AD) in Reading; required for an immediate start to join global leader and boutique, technical enterprise infrastructure consultancy.This is a key role as a Project Manager, Delivering in-depth and very advance high detail technical consultancy projects on Enterprise MS Wintel, AD, SCCM and other MS Infrastructure projects to global enterprise organisations / clientele.
Key Duties
- End to end delivery responsibility for one or more complex and highly detailed enterprise MS based Infrastructure projects to quality, best practice, time and budget.
- Matrix line management of project teams circa 3-6 advanced and highly skilled Technical consultants and internal / external stakeholders, across several locations / time-zones.
- Developing and maintaining manpower plans for managers and staff involved and monitoring the deployment of individuals to ensure that they are contributing effectively.
- Takes responsibility for the delivery of high profile projects of work, typically with large enterprise clientele, establishing and maintaining the correct structures to control and monitor throughout.
- Leads project planning, scheduling, controlling and reporting activities for strategic, high impact, often high risk projects, ensuring that comprehensive project, quality, and risk plans are prepared and maintained.
- Ensures that realistic estimates of costs, timescales and resource requirements are agreed and carries out the monitoring of projects against these criteria, taking corrective action as necessary.
- Manages risk and ensures that any strategic problems are identified at the earliest opportunity and that solutions are identified and implemented, in line with change control processes.
You will need:
- Strong project management skills
- Excellent planning, cost / financial, governance, issue, risk, change control and stakeholder management
- Successful background in delivery projects to time quality and budget
- Excellent matrix management and team leader ship skills and collaborative leadership style
- Strong principles, methods, techniques and tools for the effective management of projects from initiation through to implementation, particularly with highly detailed technical Ms Infrastructure based projects
- Excellent use of project management tools e.g. MS Project
- Strong background in delivering infrastructure related Projects to enterprise environments
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; including communicating with technical and non-technical clients and staff at all organizational levels both internal and external
- Strong eye for very in-depth and detailed technical projects and successful delivery
- Ability and willingness to take initiative toward project completion
- Available for immediate start
Desirable skills
- In-depth knowledge and previous expertise of complex Active Directory / AD migration
- Project management certification such as Prince, PMP etc
- Previous expertise in Technical consultancy and delivery projects.
