Salary - Upto £90,000
Due to continued expansion we are looking to recruit a number of DevOps/Platform Engineers for a leading IT Consultancy.
A few questions/points to think about below:
How should we design and develop software to best take advantage of cloud computing?
What is your opinion of DevOps, Agile delivery and full stack engineering and how might you go about transforming traditional software delivery methods?
Are you someone who challenges the platforms and services of today and embraces modern coding and DevOps techniques?
How can you incorporate a machine learning and data science continuous delivery frameworks?
These are some of the questions and the ways of thinking that are associated to the type of work we do. We have always challenged the boundaries of technology change across software development, software testing and Big Data solutions (to name a few). Platform and Release delivery is no exception.
We are an AWS Partner and also a Microsoft Silver partner, that is responsible for delivering pipeline as code and infrastructure as code to a variety of different clients throughout the UK. Within the business you're expected to use your skills in automation, configuration management, scripting and virtualisation, whilst keeping yourself ahead of the emerging DevOps technologies and can leverage these to develop game changing solutions to our clients.
We're looking for Release Engineers with excellent knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems, scripting (e.g. Python, bash shell scripting, Perl), Configuration Management (Puppet, Ansible, Chef and Docker) and Container platforms (Rancher, Kubernetes, Docker Swarm). If you have any hands-on Azure, AWS and/or Google Cloud knowledge, this is deemed as essential. Proven ability of being able to advise and consult clients on all aspects of Cloud adoption and delivery is a must for this role

It is about having an understanding of getting an application from a developer's laptop all the way to production, whilst upholding key principals of quality, reliability and speed of the applications, environments and pipelines. The same approach can also be applied to the underlying infrastructure (Infrastructure-as-Code) to automate the creation and destruction of environments.
