Network Management Engineer to be based in Manchester, to provide support for the development and maintenance of Infrastructure for NRT Operational Support Systems (OSS). Also support the management of specific OSS technologies via partnership with technology specialists. Perform OSS Hardware, Software, and application monitoring in accordance with established technical and operational processes and policies. Support the OSS Hardware, Software, and application incident, problem, event, and configuration management processes to provide fault resolution, failure trending, critical event corrections, and routine system configuration changes. Assist in end user training/knowledge transfer for OSS applications to reduce user generated faults and incidents. Obtain & maintain knowledge and proficiency of existing and new systems and technology being implemented/used within OSS Hardware, Software, and applications to enable compliance with established Quality and SLA standard. Effectively communicate with colleagues/relevant teams on all issues relating to OSS Hardware, Software, and applications to enable proactive actions are implemented to maintain availability and reliability.

Essential Skills:
* Demonstrated excellent analytical and problem solving skills
* Understanding / Familiarity of IT Infrastructure.
* Ability to organize customer demands
* Demonstrable knowledge of networking technologies including tcp/ip, switches and routers.
* Knowledge of Operating Systems (OS) - Linux, Windows Server, Windows Desktop, etc…
* Knowledge of Applications (Web, Mail, Office Suite, etc…)
* Willing to work shift patterns
* Willing to perform on call support to Network Operations Centre
Desired Skills:
* Ability to adapt readily to changing work and responsibilities
* Hardware including some from Sun, HP, Dell.
* Experience of configuring and supporting: Operating systems, Hardware and Data Storage.
* Knowledge of scripting languages (BASH), Java, Perl, PHP
* Configuration and support of at least one Data Storage technology such as RAID, StorageTEK, SAN, switches. · Degree/Diploma or equivalent education in Information Technologies
