Junior/Graduate Java Developer

Junior Java Developers- Northamptonshire

Junior Java Developers urgently required in Northampton and surrounding areas, My client is a growing Logistics business who has continuous global success, The business is now growing there software development department. My client is one of the big players in the industry, you will be working on and developing Cutting Edge technologies and developing new generation Logistic solutions. Key Responsibilities

* Work as part of or as a lead for a team to understand business requirements and how to translate these into a workable solution which can be coded effectively. Own creation of work packages and job tasks for the development project team.

* Create software solutions based on internal software framework(s).

* Build and implement unit tests as part of a development team.

* Provide 2nd Line Support to UK customers. This would involve identifying possible bugs and where appropriate effecting suitable fixes to ensure that customer sites remain operational; dealing with support incidents when they arise; support 1st line and work with 3rd line where necessary.

* Work closely with our help-desk ticketing system to track, monitor, and resolve issues. .

* Shift work may be introduced to cover extended hours dependent upon operational requirements.

* The role will also require out of hour remote support. support.

* Participation in daily meetings, both internal and external where required.

* Work as part of international team to ensure maximum system uptime and performance.

* Commit to continual personal development.

Skills/experience

* Minimum 1years experience or striong degree credentials,

* Experience with Java, C#, C++ or other object-oriented programming languages. (Essential)

* Experience with Eclipse, or similar IDE

* Experience of Hibernate, Junit, SQL, JMS and HTML

* Experience with relational databases (Oracle, My SQL, SQL Server).

* Ability to read, analyse and interpret technical documentation.

* Ability to write technical user and procedure manuals.

* Proficient verbal and written communication skills

* Interest in logistics and material flow systems

* Experience of leading small development teams

* Ability to work in teams and under pressure.

* Able to demonstrate their ability to work on their own initiative and without supervision.

* Open and willing attitude, ready to take on new challenges as they arise.
