Test Lead

Test Lead / Senior Tester / Automation / Test Strategy / Permanent / Tamworth / Staffordshire

Market leading and rapidly growing software company is looking for an experienced Test Lead with a wealth of Automation experience to join their Software Development Team at their head office in Tamworth, Staffordshire.

The Test Lead will be responsible for test strategy and testing activities across several multi-disciplinary development teams. To become a key member of the Development Team you will need to have strong testing skills, be hard working and be able to fit in well with a small team.

Key responsibilities:

*To understand the industry requirements of the clients customer base and develop a thorough understanding of how those requirements are met by the product range.

*Define testing strategy to ensure consistent and high quality testing efforts across the development team.

*Define product quality metrics, monitor testing activities, report KPIs, identify trends.

*Manage test data sets.

*Monitor customer-reported defects, ensure root cause analysis is completed and processes updated where applicable.

*Conduct proactive testing (both manual and automated).

*Continually update skills by learning new technologies relevant to the role.

*Promote and advocate best practices within the development team and throughout the business.

Key skills and experience required:

*Proven track record in a Test Lead role.

*Demonstrable experience of evaluating and successfully implementing test automation frameworks across products and teams.

*Identification of the most suitable test approach, i.e. automated, scripted, exploratory.

*Writing SQL data scripts (to maintain test data).

*Experience of performance and load testing.

*Experience testing RESTful APIs.

*Experience working in an Agile environment.

*Any programming or scripting experience is advantageous but not essential (ideally in a .Net environment).
