Short Term Contract to for an IT support Technician to provide IT support services to both on-site and to remote users and for the organisation's ICT infrastructure

Role

You will be the 1st point of contact to analyse, diagnose and resolve 2nd and 3rd line end user support issues, escalating as required

Day to Day

Manage new starters, movers and leavers including account configuration and hardware setup

Install and configure new and repaired hardware

Working with the IT managed service, contribute to the maintenance and monitoring of the organisation's network and server estate

Managing allocation of tasks to additional ad hoc onsite IT resource

Maintaining the IT asset register

Providing basic desktop training to end users as required

Building effective and positive relationships by keeping users informed and owning the problem through to satisfactory resolution for the user

Working with outsourced managed IT Service Desk including with technical experts to resolve more complex problems

Required

Proven experience as senior IT Technician or other relevant position

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) including continuous contact with users requiring communication of technical issues to non-technical users

Excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills

Operate within clearly defined procedures with ability to make day to day decisions on own work priorities and escalation of unresolved issues

End user hardware and software support (Primarily Windows 10, some Mac desirable)

Office 365 administration including Exchange

Microsoft Active Directory and management tools

Microsoft Server 2008 -> including Windows file sharing

VMWare ESX (VSphere)

Creating and managing backup schedules (VEEAM)

Experience of network and LAN management and configuration (Meraki)

Understanding of information security

Understanding of DNS
