CyberHive is a dynamic and growing cyber security and cloud services business. Our patented ‘Trusted Cloud’ technology, cuts the time taken to detect cyber attacks from months to minutes. Trusted Cloud, co-developed with the University of Oxford launched to the market in June 2018 and has kick-started rapid growth in the company.

A vacancy has arisen for a Linux Systems Administrator in our fast-paced offices in Newbury, Berkshire. The growth of the business means that a confident, pro-active Linux sysadmin is required to onboard and support customers, build, deploy and maintain our platforms while keeping our systems running smoothly.

Linux Systems Administrator Personal Requirements:

+ Someone who is bright with lots of initiative.

+ Someone who is incredibly proactive.

+ Someone who is willing and keen to learn new skills.

+ Someone who is a natural problem solver with excellent attention to detail.

+ Someone who is happy to take responsibility and see projects through to a successful conclusion.

Key Skills - Essential:

+ Linux - Strong experience in the administration and troubleshooting of CentOS and Ubuntu

+ Basic Windows Server administration

Key Skills - Desirable:

+ VMWare or OpenStack administration

+ KVM / Libvirt

+ Open Source monitoring tools, eg. Nagios / ELK / Cacti / Prometheus

+ Python or Bash scripting skills

+ Ansible

+ Networking - Good understanding of networking (LAN, WAN), ideally with Cisco or Juniper networking equipment

Day to Day Activities:

+ Onboarding new customers

+ Troubleshooting various networking / Linux issues

+ Being an escalation point for customer issues

+ Building and maintaining our internal infrastructure

+ Creating documentation when required

+ Liaising with partners / vendors to get issues resolved

Occasional Activities:

+ Visiting one of our data centres to rack up new servers or perform system upgrades

It is most important that the successful candidate has an excellent Linux system administration background, is a great communicator, loves learning, has a desire to gain the skills needed and relishes the challenge of working with cutting edge technology in a small team.

The role will be full time, Monday to Friday 9AM to 5.30PM. You will have opportunities to learn and develop a long-term and rewarding career while working with a great team.
