Position: SQL Server DBA

Location: Leixlip, Co. Kildare, Ireland

Salary: EUR60,000 - EUR70,000 per year depending on experience + benefits

Contract Type: Permanent

SQL SERVER DBA

Our client a multinational IT and Professional services organization is seeking an experienced SQL Server DBA to join their based in Leixlip, Co. Kildare

The SQL Server DBA will provide 3rd Level technical support, design, consultation and technical leadership

SQL Server DBA KEY Responsibilities:

* To contribute to and develop the SQL Server expertise of the team and to share it with the other support teams

* To take part in projects linked to Service Quality Improvement and Business growth.

* To represent the DBA team and be one of the main linkage with other teams and Service Providers.

* To create a Technology plan for SQL Server on the Account.

* Execute overall database architecture strategy

* Create and follow data standards and change management process

* Support HA / DR architecture and manage common data interface layers

* Work closely with project teams to develop data models for business processes.

* Work with application development teams to ensure adherence to SQL coding standards.

* Ensure proper prioritization and schedule for production database changes.

* Process and technical documentation.

SQL Server DBA Requirements:

* Bachelors or undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.

* MS SQL Server Certification

* Must possess a minimum of 5+ year's previous SQL Server DBA experience.

* Excellent communication skill: Oral and written - English.

* Ability to operate well in an international environment.

* SQL Server 2005, 2008, 2012 experience

* Must possess very strong problem solving and resolution experience, aswell as strong mentoring skills, integrity, attention to detail, delivery and goal orientation

* Ability to work on more than one project.

* Ability to learn quickly and independently.

* Knowledge of monitoring alerting, logging and status messages.

* Strong troubleshooting skills of Infrastructure technical issues.

* Experience of Incident and Ticket handling.

* Has initiative, a sense of responsibility and commitment to work.
