Press Officer - media relations officer, media relations executive, media officer, senior press officer

Press Officer - My client, a forward-thinking consumer focused personal finance profit organisation is looking to recruit a Press Officer to support the Senior External Communications Manager to drive awareness and management of the organisation's reputation to internal and external stakeholders through the execution of effective media and public relations.

The post holder will be tasked with supporting in the development and execution of comms strategies that engage and enhance our audience base and encourage consumers to take action ensuring cut through of key messages in national, regional, consumer and trade media.

It is essential that the successful candidate possesses the following experience:

* Account manager level or in-house equivalent.

* A good understanding of the UK media with strong relationships.

* A sound understanding of how an in-house press team works, and ability to demonstrate accountability, proactiveness and confidence when dealing with internal and external stakeholders.

* Ability to demonstrate PR campaign and project management.

* Proactive and robust, able to anticipate business requirements and media responses.

* Experience of operating in a complex corporate organisation, subject to significant public scrutiny.

* Experience of working in cross-functional teams on integrated campaigns involving public affairs and social media.

* First class written communication skills, with strong ability to write press releases, media responses, blog posts and by-lined articles.

* Resilience and ability to provide rapid and robust responses to external comments or policy developments.
