Role: System Support and Development Officer

Location: Stevenage

Rate: Negotiable

The post holder is part of a team of System Support and Development Officers who report to the Housing Business Systems Manager and take responsibility for IT systems within Housing. The post holder is required to have good business analysis skills & an ability to undertake complex configuration tasks. The key purpose of the role is to ensure that IT systems are set up and configured in housing to maximise business benefits. Each System Support and Development Officer will be required to take individual responsibility for working within particular areas of Housing and will require a detailed understanding of business objectives and processes in these areas. Officers are also required to have an understanding of how technology can be exploited to deliver business objectives. The post holder will be required to possess a broad understanding of all Housing Management areas, and knowledge of the interdependencies between different areas of the Housing function and other departments. This knowledge is required in order to be able to provide cover for colleagues and ensure that the team has the capacity to respond effectively to business requirements at all times.

The post holder will be required to develop strong working relationships with staff at all levels: across the organisation in order to fulfil the role effectively. This will include senior Management in order to properly understand business objectives and consequent priorities for technology, IT Management and key users.

Key tasks, duties and accountabilities of the post:

*Experience with IT System Support

*Experience with Northgate

*Housing Systems Support & Development

*The post holder will have a high direct responsibility for ensuring that Housing ICT systems are properly utilised and fully functional.

On a day to day basis responsibilities will include:

*Ensuring that systems and business processes are properly aligned to maximise the benefits derived from the systems

*Recommending changes to business process where relevant

*Assessing the ability of staff to utilise systems effectively

*Developing training material and delivering end user training

*Supporting work to develop business cases for investment in new or improved technology

*Applying user security - adhering to GDPR requirements

*Resolving system problems

*Upgrades & Testing
