Seeking an experienced API Technical Writer to join a talented R&D team who will lead the delivery of world-class API documentation for a new cloud native platform.

What you will do in this API Technical Writer job

Ability to create, edit, and review developer content

Experience creating tutorials and developer guides for APIs

Passion for customer-focused documentation and understanding of developer audience

Ability to receive and prioritise feedback from a variety of developer-facing groups

Experience of document management systems and organising a full repository of product documentation

Self-starter with organisation and project management skills

Ability to learn complicated interconnected enterprise services

What skills and expertise would be nice to have?

Interest in developing consistent documentation standards across all APIs

Experience working with Agile teams

Ability to work with both co-located and off-site development teams.

Experience in customer facing training sessions using the technical documentation produced

Experience writing C# code samples or working with developers to create code samples

Day-to-day in this API Technical Writer role

Review documentation for upcoming APIs for clarity and conformity to standards

Create sample code to test the API documentation and tools for accuracy

Create new developer guides and tutorials for upcoming APIs

Work with Product Managers, Products Owners and Agile team members to research and understand the functionality

Majority of the writer's time is spent researching and writing, with the opportunity to provide input on developer portal layout and experience if desired
