SQL Server DBA / Developer

We are looking for a strong SQL Server DBA/Developer to join a dedicated technology team, working alongside experienced and talented development staff.

You will be responsible for managing applications and software keeping a large number of servers running smoothly, backing them up, planning for increases in capacity and assisting the Database Developers with optimizing their T-SQL & SQL code by reviewing indexes, arranging joins and creating additional indexes.

You will essentially be responsible for managing a number of large customer facing SQL Server web-based software products and SQL Server instances.

On a daily basis you will be responsible for;

Installing/Patching SQL Server instances - you will responsible for installing new instances of SQL Server and making sure that the existing instances stay current on Microsoft patches. This includes managing Collation Settings, Drive/File Layout, Installation, Optimisation, Storage, Scalability, Batching, Loading, Transactional updates, Redundancy (multiple levels), Recovery and Backups.

You will have experience in designing and maintaining security models; you will have solid knowledge of protecting and safeguarding data and in-depth SQL Server configuration experience.

You will also be responsible for creating server maintenance plans to ensure that the databases can be easily managed, updated and maintained.

The development team operate in an Agile/SCRUM environment, any knowledge of supporting and working within Agile/SCRUM would be a bonus as would knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems.
