Senior Category Manager

Are you an experienced IT Category Manager seeking a new opportunity? If so I would like to hear from you!!

My client are an established Utilities company, looking for a solid IT Category Manager / Supplier Manager / Relationship Manager to join their team. I am looking for solid procurement experience in the IT sector particularly regarding IT services (hardware/software) and outsourcing or similar arrangements in the market place. You will have experience managing internal and external suppliers, and be familiar with working in a fast paced ever changing environment. Working with key suppliers with a large IT spend. Overall you will be heavily involved in selecting and benchmarking including RFPs and supplier selection on a fairly regular basis. Must have solid Procurement process and purchasing experience coupled with good stakeholder management. I need someone that is comfortable working with blue chip suppliers. Line management experience is essential as you will responsible for a small team. Professional accreditation (such as CIPS) would be considered advantageous but not essential. This is an opportunity to grow and shape the category management arena and introduce best practice and build a long term strategy in your category. Looking for an enthusiastic, self-starter with drive and commitment to improvement.
