User Researcher (2-3 days/week)

Spring Technology's client, a public sector organisation, are currently looking to recruit a User Researcher for an initial 6 month contract based in Edinburgh on a rate of £450-550/day (inside of IR35) working 2-3 days/week.

Responsibilities:

* Working closely with the Product Owners in the programme, build relationships and work effectively with external parties, including legal firms, tax payers.

* Developing the user research strategy and plan for the Alpha and Beta phases (Dec-June) of the programme.

* Executing a range of user research activities according to business need.

* Ensuring that usability testing is undertaken at appropriate times during the Alpha and Beta phases of the programme.

* Advocating for accessibility, assisted digital, and inclusive design practices and helping deliver accessible services that work for all users.

Requirements:

* Experience of user research within a digital delivery programme with proven results that are traceable to user experience interventions.

* Demonstrable knowledge of a range of user-centred design practices in addition to user research.

* Proven experience of identifying, capturing and communicating user needs and insights that feed into the design of products or services, as part of a similar role/s.

* Proven experience of choosing appropriate user-centred design research methods (from data gathering to synthesis and analysis) for different design life cycle phases and situations.

* Knowledge of accessibility standards.

* Ability to confidently engage with stakeholders and colleagues at all levels to generate commitment to goals.
