Test Specialist, Financial Client (Financial Experience Essential), London, 6 Months

Our public sector client are looking for a high calibre and enthusiastic "hands-on" test Specialist to join the Business Delivery team and lead the testing activity in support of the Trading System Replacement project. The ideal candidate will have a strong background of testing ideally in investment banking operational environments.

The role will involve:

* Defining, agreeing and documenting the test strategy at the planning stage of the project

* Test planning including writing test plans and scripts

* Management and maintenance of efficient testing procedures, templates & re-usable scripts

* Supervision and management of test environments

* Manage the work of testing resources, working closely with the Project Manager.

* Ensure quality through controlling the sign-off and release of changes prior to implementation

* Carrying out testing activities, as required.

Key Skills/Experience

* 2 year's experience of working in as Test Specialist role in an operational environment with time-critical activities (ideally finance - investment banking)

* Defining test strategies using a recognised structured approach

* Experience of automated testing is desirable

* Testing in-house developed application software as well as 3rd party products

* End to end testing of critical business processes

* Managing small test teams and associated resources

* Leading System Testing and User Acceptance testing.

* Knowledge of financial processes and applications would be an advantage

* Knowledge of trading systems preferred

* Knowledge of good practice testing methods

Desirable Tools knowledge

* Microsoft TFS Test Specialist, Visual Studio.

* Selenium Web Driver, JMeter

* OMR, Reuters, Bloomberg, Arcontech MVCS, Swift, Trading Systems

* Testing Microsoft .Net development
