IT Support Engineer

6-12 months contract

Oxford The Role: This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is looking to gain exposure to a diverse range of tools and in turn further develop their technical skill-set. As well as supporting a vibrant company and IT Team through its growth, you will be working closely with the IT Manager and Systems & Network Engineer on a range of high level projects, continuously improving the Internal IT services.

Responsibilities

* The successful candidate will be the 1st point of contact between staff and IT; answering support tickets via the Internal Service Desk and escalating tickets to the Systems and Network Engineer or IT Manager where necessary.

* The candidate will also be responsible keeping the asset tracking systems up-to date and proactively supporting staff and company devices.

* The candidate will be responsible for installing and maintaining hardware & software and would be expected to maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current operating systems and standard software packages including Microsoft Windows, Mac OS and Linux variants; looking to innovate with ways to automate and streamline their day to day processes.

Requirements:

* Experience supporting customers or internal employees

* Both Microsoft Windows and MacOs operating system support and configuration

* Experience supporting printers and basic networking issues

* Experience supporting Microsoft office & Office 365

* Previous work within a Service Desk environment is a plus

* Prior work within a regulated environment is a plus

* Supporting Audio Visual equipment

* Ability to work effectively within a team environment - taking direction from colleagues but also the ability to work with minimal supervision

* Excellent time-management skills

* Good communication skills - written and oral

* Attention to detail
