Senior Quantity Surveyor
£45-50k plus car allowance and benefits package
Northern Ireland (Belfast or Derry / Londonderry base - flexible)
Experis are supporting our client a leading Engineering Support Services organisation in the recruitment of an experience Senior Quantity Surveyor to provide a professional QS service for their projects team in Northern Ireland.
The main responsibilities of this role are as follows -
* Accountable for the commercial administration of a contract (or contracts) providing a comprehensive and professional commercial service from contract award to completion
* Through astute contract administration, robust risk management and skilled negotiation, manage the contract(s) effectively to deliver or improve the agreed profitability and cash projections
* Areas of focus will include -
* Cash Collection (original scope, change control and claims)
* Change control management
* Claims Management (time and cost)
* Sub-contract procurement and account administration
* Contractual notifications (delay, loss/or expense, practical completion, etc)
* Contract close out / final account
* Identify, quantify and notify all project variations and maintain the project change control register.
* Ensure the management and control of sub-contract and suppliers accounts in line with agreed terms and conditions.
* Be aware of and adhere to established project control procedures, ensure the best utilisation of resources to maximise the income and profitability of the project.
* Provide information to assist with the preparation of budgets, estimates and tenders.
* Supervise Quantity Surveyors on a day to day basis to ensure effective utilisation of commercial staff resources and to promote commercial staff development.
The successful candidate will display the following skills and experience -
* Experienced Quantity Surveyor or similarly qualified construction professional with appropriate experience
* 5 years plus experience within Civils, Construction, M&E or Rail Sectors within Principal Contracting organisation / Main Contractor
* MRICS or willing to work towards
* IT Literate
* Previous experience of staff supervision / management
* Good all round commercial experience
* Strong communication skills
* Full Drivers Licence
