Spring Technology is currently looking for an experienced Linux/Unix Admin. This is a 6 Month contract based in Coventry.

KEY SKILLS

*Highly proficient in UNIX (preferably Solaris 10 & 11) and Layered Product Administration and Tuning.

*Highly proficient in Linux (preferably Red Hat 7 or above) product Installation, Administration and Tuning.

*A solid understanding of SAN technologies (IBM SVC SAN, NetApp) , FC-HBA & NFS connectivity and utilities.

*A solid understanding of Storage Technologies such as ZFS, Veritas Volume Manager, Solaris Volume Manager

*Highly proficient in scripting, predominantly Korn shell, Pearl, Python

*Proficient in AWS cloud concepts and technologies

DESIRABLE SKILLS

*A good understanding of Configuration/Administration of Oracle (Sun) Hardware - M Series, T Series Servers, LDOMs

*A good understanding of Appreciation of Oracle Databases and Applications (Oracle E-Business, Oracle Forms, Oracle Internet Directory)

*A good understanding of Apache/Tomcat Web services

*A good understanding of Backup software (Commvault Simpana)

*An appreciation of IBM Netezza (Linux) appliances and Data Warehouses.

*A good understanding of Linux (preferably Red Hat) product Installation, Administration and Tuning.

*A good understanding of scheduling software

*Dev Ops experience
