Homestay & Programme Coordinator / Organiser

Edinburgh.

We arrange courses for European students and teachers in 15 UK locations. Courses are normally 1 or 2 weeks in duration and take place in the summer and at other dates throughout the year.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and efficient Local Organiser (freelance) to arrange host family accommodation in North Edinburgh, co-ordinate programmes (drafted by head office) and supervise groups when they are in North Edinburgh.

Local Organisers work from home in cooperation with head office, preparing for courses, booking classrooms and coaches, arranging local lecturers and school visits, recruiting and visiting host families (for which a car would be required). There are no fixed hours. 

During each course Local Organisers are required to liaise with teachers and leaders, conduct briefing sessions, introduce speakers and occasionally accompany groups on excursions. Payment is made per course.

This position would appeal to someone who enjoys meeting people and possesses good organisational skills. It could also appeal to a recently retired person. 

Applicants must live in Edinburgh.

The first group planned for Sunday 1 to Sunday 15 September 2019 is a group of 15 Italian students aged 16-17 who will be attending a secondary school in North Edinburgh for 2 weeks. The school attendance has already been arranged. The new organiser will be required to recruit host families and arrange excursions.
