They are an established Software as a Service Provider based in Basildon that requires an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join their team.

The Role

The successful candidate will have responsibility for ensuring seamless continuity of all systems. Therefore the role will include system monitoring and updates, backups, data storage and fault-finding, management of their business continuity strategy, disaster recovering plan and IT security in relation to the businesses contractual obligations.

Essential - Requirements:

- Circa 5+ years commercial experience (2 years in a similar role)

- Strong proven hands-on experience configuring, managing and fault finding in a Windows based environment.

- At an OS/Application level, the candidate must have implemented, configured and managed Window Server 2012, Active Directory, Hyper-V , Clustering (including MSSQL), VPN, SQL Server, Windows Services and Web Applications (IIS)

- It would be expected candidates have experience and ability to produce and amend documents on a technical level, including change control requirements and processes.

- A bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related subject

Desirable:- Requirements

- A strong logical thought process with the ability to understand complex systems, this role would suit a developer or dba wish to expand their infrastructure, systems and security experience.

- Experience with HP blade systems, virtualisation, networks, a genuine understanding and exposure of iLO, SNMP, cluster/HA, Raid, SAN.

- A master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related subject. Or a formal Microsoft Certification in a related subject, MTA/MOS/MCP/MCTS/MCITP, etc.

- Strong SQL and a good understanding of MSSQL
