About the Organisation
Our client is an independent international development organisation that uses data to tackle poverty and drive sustainable development.
They played a key role in establishing IATI, a global initiative striving to improve the transparency of development and humanitarian resources and their results for addressing poverty and crises.
Our client is now looking for a Python Developer to work on the tech at the heart of IATI.

In this key role, you’ll support the success of software that is helping our client achieve this ambition: IATI Standard. This is an open-data standard which shares information on humanitarian and development resources and the results that they achieve.
You’ll have the chance to tackle plenty of interesting conceptual and technical challenges, as well as lead projects as part of a multi-skilled team.
Your Role
As the Python Developer, you will help to drive the success of the IATI Standard.
Joining a team that builds new and improves existing open-source software, you will:
- Enhance the quality of software through incremental refactoring, automation and continuous deployments
- Lead DevOps processes
- Work with technical experts from governments, foundations, NGOs and developing country agencies
- Help to improve the tools and data available to end users
- Monitor the usage of IATI software
- Mentor junior Developers
About You
To be considered as a Python Developer, you’ll need:
- Experience of Python, Django and SQL
- Previous DevOps and sysadmin experience
- An understanding of software design principles
