Drilling Superintendent/Senior Drilling Engineer- 12 Month Contract - Aberdeen

My client is looking for a Drilling Superintendent/Senior Drilling Engineer for an initial 12 month contract based in Aberdeen working with a large world leader in power generation technology. The role will be full time on site and may require some out of hours working, and the client can offer a competitive daily rate.

Required Experience:

*

Minimum 10 years in a similar role for Oil & Gas Operators

*

Suitable tertiary education in Engineering

*

Hands on well-site experience on both floating and fixed installations

*

Detailed knowledge of all aspects of drilling engineering topics and operations including well de-complete and plug & abandonment operations.

*

Good knowledge of subsurface issues

*

In depth knowledge of appropriate legislation

*

Planning, cost management, and logistics knowledge and awareness

*

Appropriate training in accordance with Well Operator's competency matrix

*

UKCS offshore survival, medical, MIST and IWCF Level 5 Well Control required for operational phases

Responsibilities:

*

Together with input from the Senior Drilling Engineer, Well Intervention Engineer and Sub-sea Engineer, will have the authority and responsibility for the planning and execution all wellsite activities including slick line and wireline operations, electric line operations in cased hole, de-completions, coil tubing operations, setting abandonment plugs, section milling, tree recoveries and wellhead severances.

The management of the MODU or platform rig contractor and key service providers.

*

Authority and responsibility for the office and wellsite operations teams.

*

Ensures Management System Interface Documents to bridge with rigs and vessels are compiled and in place

*

Controls the Management of Change process with relevant risk assessments conducted and dispensations sought.

*

Managing, reviewing and endorsing work programmes.

*

Alternate for Product Line Director as required in terms of well abandonment functions.

*

Maintains and updates Policies, and Operations Procedures relating to the well abandonments

*

To mentor any junior wells team personnel

*

Occasional representation in industry workgroups, committees or conferences

*
