The Role
As Information Assurance & Governance Manager, you will have overall responsibility as the Data Protection officer for CITB.
The role will focus on the business’ data and information governance arrangements, key elements of which include keeping the Executive & Leadership teams informed of their regulatory and legislative obligations; advising on strategy development, relevant policies and procedures to support compliance; accountability for monitoring the implementation of those policies; and assigning responsibilities ensuring effective handling of Subject Access Requests.
You will have experience of working within a cross-functional team to ensure that the organisation is working to its strategic goals.
About You
The successful individual will be educated to degree level or equivalent, with (or be willing to attain) a relevant information governance qualification. You will also have significant experience of the following:
- The concepts, principles and associated legislative / regulatory requirements for Data Protection Legislation gained through broad and in-depth experience
- Ability to develop in-depth knowledge of other business disciplines in order be able to resolve issues that have an impact beyond own professional discipline
- An understanding of how own business area integrates with other business areas in order to achieve the goals of CITB
- Understanding of the latest developments within the profession
-Experience in working across the business to influence colleagues to reach a common goal.
- Analytical skills in order to be able to evaluate (mainly) factual information.
